About Living In Shadows

The brainchild of the formidable Northeast-based duo Zoe Gilby and Andy Champion, Living In Shadows coincides with Zoe and Andy’s prestigious jazz careers. Zoe was the 2019 jazz vocalist of the year at the parliamentary awards, has self-released five albums, and performed worldwide at major jazz festivals, collaborating with the likes of Tony Kofi, Jason Yarde, and Gary Crosby. As a multi-instrumentalist and composer, Andy Champion’s career spans 30 years, working extensively in the UK and Europe. He led his own progressive jazz quintet, ACV, releasing two critically acclaimed albums, touring with national radio coverage via the Edinburgh Festival and BBC Radio 3. Additionally, Andy performs in a number of improvised music settings, including SHIVER with Chris Sharkey and Corey Mwamba’s NTH.
